This tally board was used during the 1948 National Plowing Match held in Dexter, Iowa. The board stood behind President Harry Truman when he addressed the crowd gathered at the event on September 18, 1948. Today, the board is housed in the Dexter Historical Museum. Content can be used with the following standards: 2nd grade SS.2.24 Natural Resources, 3rd Grade SS.3.28 Cultural Contributions, 4th grade SS.4.26 Changes to Agriculture in a lesson on Iowa's agriculture and the culture surrounding it.
