This photograph, taken around 1945, shows Rabbi Zeichik of the Beth El Jacob Synagogue located in Des Moines, Iowa. This synagogue, built in 1895, was Des Moines's second Orthodox Jewish synagogue. Rabbi Zeichik served as the Rabbi for this synagogue for 43 years.
