This wooden nickel, created for the Cedar Falls centennial celebration has images reminiscent of the Buffalo Nickel. During the celebration on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of July, these nickels were accepted as legal tender in local stores and could be exchanged at the First National Bank or the Cedar Falls Trust & Savings Bank for normal currency.
