This is an amber, one-quart sized glass milk bottle used and distributed by the Carnation Company out of Waterloo, Iowa. This particular bottle was produced circa 1961. The Carnation Company was started in Waterloo in 1929 and operated independently until it was sold to the Mississippi Valley Milk Producers' Association, Inc. in 1971. The name of the overall company would later change to the Swiss Valley Farms Co. The Carnation name would still be used on products until the Swiss Valley brand was phased out around 1978. The company stopped producing glass bottles of this kind in 1975.
