This is a glass, quart-sized milk bottle with a bulb-shaped neck which was owned and distributed by the Carnation Company out of Waterloo, Iowa. This particular bottle was manufactured in 1948. The Carnation Company was started in 1929 and acquired by the Mississippi Valley Milk Producers' Association, Inc. in 1971. The larger company would later change its corporate name to the Swiss Valley Farms Co. The Carnation brand would still appear on products until the Swiss Valley brand name was phased out in 1978.
