The subject of this interview is Edis Beganovic, a Bosnian native who discusses his experience coming to the United States. Edis Beganovic and his sister were sponsored by their cousin to move to Chicago. In May of 1997 he moved to Waterloo to obtain a job at IBP. He worked there for about three months before deciding to attend Hawkeye Community College. He continued to go to school through various periods while maintaining a full time job at John Deere working on the assembly floor. He married his wife in 2003 and they have had two children. Currently he is working on his Bachelor's from UNI in Spanish in order to pursue a Master's Degree in ESL teaching. He would like to become a Spanish teacher.
