The subject of this interview is Zulfeta Rizvic, a Bosnian native who discusses the transition from Bosnia to the United States with her family. In December 1996 Zulfeta Rizvic, her husband and daughter, moved from Chicago to Waterloo. She was an elementary school teacher in Bosnia. She worked at IBP for a short time before getting involved with the Waterloo Community Schools as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher. With the encouragement of the Bosnian community, she began the KUD Kolo dance group to help younger refugees stay connected to their heritage.
