The Dumpbusters was a conservation group in Pottawattamie County who were against an investor wanting to set up a landfill on the Loess Hills. In September of 1985, the Dumpbusters were at the hearing with most of the community backing them with concerns of their own. In October, the investor's plans were shot down when the Zoning council voted 4-3 majority in favor of denying the plan. The T-shirt is what members wore during this important meeting. The Dumpbusters would later change their name the Pottawattamie County Conservation.
