This 1951 newspaper clipping pictured above is about A.J. Elias and his famous peddler wagon. Mr. Elias provided services for numerous customers in the Monona, Shelby and Pottawattamie areas for 55 years. During this time, Elias helped to bring crucial supplies to rural farm families during the harsh winter months. In the winter of 1951, Elias retired at the age of 74 along with his wagon.
