This program was created for the funeral of Kenneth Warren Carter of Dexter, Iowa. Due to complications from polio, Carter was placed in an iron lung in Raymond Blank Memorial Hospital in Des Moines in 1952. While he was in the hospital, Carter was visited by his neighbor, Marilyn (Lawson) Bode, who was also in the hospital for polio. Carter passed away in the iron lung in early 1953.
