This telegram informed Claube and Leora Wilson of Dexter, Iowa, that their son, Claiborne, had died in a training accident. All five of the Wilson's sons joined the military and served during World War II. Claiborne joined the U.S. Army Air Forces and trained as a fighter pilot. On August 9, 1945, the engine on Wilson's P-40 fighter aircraft exploded during training in Texas. Wilson lost his life in the explosion.
