This newspaper clipping discusses the presentation of a flag given to the Iowa 1st African Regiment of Volunteers by the ladies of Keokuk and Muscatine. The presentation was made by Muscatine citizen Alexander Clark, who helped recruit the regiment, but was not able to go on active duty due to a defect in his left ankle.
