This is a photograph of Martin Holst, a Danish immigrant and resident of Cedar Falls, Iowa. Holst was a printer who established Holst Printing Company, which published the Dannevirke newspaper in Elk Horn, Iowa, and then in Cedar Falls. August Bang, another Danish immigrant, purchased the paper in 1947.
