This portfolio contains some of the writings and correspondence of Carrie Chapman Catt, an Iowa woman's suffrage leader. Catt grew up near Charles City, Iowa, and later attended what is today Iowa State University. Catt served as president of the National American Woman Suffrage Association from 1900 to 1904 and was the founder of the League of Women Voters (1919) and the International Alliance of Women (1904).
