This picture of Mount Ayr's second Post Office was taken around 1950. The building was dedicated on August 22, 1940. This building replaced Mount Ayr's first Post Office, which was established in 1855. "The Corn Parade," a mural painted by local artist Orr Fisher and funded by the Works Projects Administration, was hung in the post office June 11, 1941.
