This photo shows the Lake of Three Fires located four miles north of Bedford, Iowa. Construction of this man-made lake began in 1935 and was completed in 1936; however, a drought prevented the lake from filling up until 1937. Lake of Three Fires State Park was dedicated in 1935 and included a bath house, campgrounds, and, once the lake filled up, a beach.
