The subject of this interview is Adnan Mahmutagic, a Bosnian native who immigrated to the United States in the aftermath of the Bosnian War. In this clip, Mahmutagic discusses working for the United Nations in Bosnia and his arrival in the United States. Adnan Mahmutagic was 19 when his brother sponsored his immigration to Iowa City. He worked as an assistant and interpreter for the United Nations Protection Force during UN peace negotiations in Tuzla, Bosnia. He began to study law shortly after his arrival in Iowa and now practices with Beecher, Field, Walker, Morris, Hoffman & Johnson, PC in downtown Waterloo.
