This cap was part of Albert Setzer's military uniform. Setzer was a member of the Amana Society in Iowa County who served during World War I. Due to their pacifist beliefs, men from the Amana Colonies were exempted from military service. However, by the end of the war, over 30 men from the Amana Colonies, including Albert Setzer, served in non-combat roles for the United States military.
