The Allison Hotel was the fourth hotel built in Britt, Iowa in 1894, originally under the name of the Barr House. The Allison had 35 bedrooms and a large dining room that was a popular dinner location for residents of Hancock County and the counties that surround it. The Allison Hotel burned to the ground in 1967.
