This program details the sixth annual session of the Chautauqua Assembly. The Chautauqua Movement was an adult education movement in the late 19th, early 20th century. The assembly brought music, speakers, entertainers, and more to rural communities across the U.S. On July 9th,1895, the Chautauqua Assembly was held in Colfax, IA and lasted for two weeks.
