This is an abstract painting created by Dottie Forsberg of Waterloo, Iowa. Forsberg lived in the Cedar Valley area and taught at the Logan Junior High School of Waterloo for 21 years. Early in her life, she also served in the Second World War as a member of the U.S. Navy's WAVES Program. The WAVES program was signed into law by former President Franklin D. Roosevelt as a reserves program for the Navy so that men could be freed up from shore based installation duty to active combat service. After the war, Forsberg also helped foster and encourage arts programming in the Waterloo area. This untitled piece is a part of the Waterloo Center for the Arts permanent collection.
