The United States military gave prayer books like this one to Jewish servicemen and women. This prayer book belonged to Ronald "Uby" Rabinovitz, an Iowa soldier who served during World War II. Rabinovitz served as a reconnaissance scout, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and saw continuous combat until his unit met up with the Russian Army. His unit also helped liberate the Wobbelin Concentration Camp in Germany.
