This is a "Boss" Husker, manufactured by the Boss Manufacturing Co., Kewanee, Illinois. This corn husking hook is made of leather with a metal prong. Before the development and wide use of mechanical corn pickers, corn was picked by hand. The husking hook removed the husks from the ear of corn and the picker then broke the ear off the stalk.
