Mount Ayr resident Charles Horne bought the hardware business of Curtis R. Keating in March 1928. After Horne passed away in 1960, his son, Bill, moved the business to 108 W. Madison Street. This photograph shows the business at this location in the 1970s. Bill and his wife, Barb, ran the business until Bill passed away in 1993. Barb continued operating Horne's Hardware until her health failed around 1996.
