On August 31, 1962, the town of Mount Ayr, Iowa held a vote to decide if it should build a swimming pool or not. This photograph shows Ringgold County resident Marvin Reynolds and Ringgold County Sheriff Elbert Strange as they displayed a banner that encouraged people to vote yes for the pool. The town voted in favor of the pool, which was built the following year.
