This picture is a promotional letter sent by the Close-To-Nature Co. to a customer interested in a canvas home for camping. The sale's manager, Paul Monroe, explains that the company's canvas houses are a step above tents. It has bellying sides to keep out insects and unwanted guests. It is also leak proof and excellent on ventilation. The letter also explains the easy installation of the home. With only two upright poles and four stakes, the canvas home will last for years. The Close-To-Nature company was established in 1908 with its first products hot off the line in 1910. The founder, W.H. Monroe, and sales manager, Paul Monroe, created an industry off of agriculture technology and tourist necessities for camping.
