This picture is a WWI military uniform worn by Capt. James Norman Hall. Capt. Hall was a Colfax native who served as a pilot for France at the beginning of the war in 1914. Hall then switched over and was pilot for England before switching over to the U.S. in 1917. He ended up being a prisoner of war for a period of time and wrote about his adventures. After the war, Capt. Hall became an established author and co-wrote with Charles Nordoff. Capt. Hall's most famous work is Mutiny on the Bounty.
