Depicted in this lithograph is four shriners, singing a quartet. In the background is three pyramids, most likely the Three Great Pyramids of Egypt. This piece was commissioned in 1939 by Grant Wood. Grant Wood was born in Anamosa, Iowa. He was a very well known artist and a teacher at the University of Iowa. Grant Wood's most famous painting was the iconic "American Gothic" (uima.uiowa.edu).
