This photograph shows the Humeston & Shenandoah railroad depot at Tingley, Iowa. Before the town of Tingley was formed, a rural post office named after Tingley Cornwall, a pioneer farmer, was established. In 1882, the Keokuk & Western railroad built the Humeston & Shenandoah branch through northern Ringgold County and the Tingley Post Office moved to its new location near the railroad and this depot.
